About Me

I am The Reverend Randolph A. (Randy) Brown, and I am a life-long Midwesterner.  I was born and raised in Chicago and have lived in Minnesota all of my adult life.  I'm 51 years old, married to my wife of 14 years, Billie, and am the proud father of my Wire Haired Fox Terrier, "Annie".  Together we make their home in suburban Minneapolis.

In Minnesota, any licensed or ordained minister of the gospel in regular communion with a religious society may perform marriages, but  clergy must file a copy of their credentials with the clerk of the district court of a county within the state.  My credentials are on file in Dakota County and I am a member in Good Standing of the National Association of Wedding Officiants, which requires evidence of being legal to officiate.

Prior to ordination, I became a Life-Professed Third Order Franciscan Brother.  The Old Catholic Church allows priests to be married and I was ordained a priest on October 4, 1985, the Feast of St. Francis.  My ministry since then has been primarily as a pastor and spiritual director.  I have also have extensive experience in leading directed retreats and pastoral counseling.

I now officiate at wedding ceremonies in a wide variety of settings.  I have officiated in such locations as Minnehaha Falls, along the Superior lakeshore, at the Headwaters of the Mississippi, in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, as well as in banquet halls, hotels, public parks, boats and private homes throughout Minnesota.  I can also make suggestions and help arrange for a site for your wedding, if this is a need.

As your wedding officiant, my job is to help you make the most of your big day. It is a privilege to provide this service and share in your joy as you begin a chapter in your lives, together. My experience will help to reduce your stress level a bit  and give you the opportunity to do the most important thing -- relax, breathe, and enjoy this most special of days!
